One seat on a La Ventana Hosted Trip to be used in 2026 or 2027. Dates depend on availability. INCLUDED: 6-nights of beachfront & poolside accommodations (single occupancy), 5-days of guided fishing (2 anglers/panga), ground transfer to and from the airport, fishing licenses, all meals, and happy hours. NOT INCLUDED: Airfare to Los Cabos Airport (SJD) or La Paz (LAP), live bait, extra alcoholic beverages, and gratuity for the guides. FISHING PROGRAM: A typical day on the water is spent from sunrise to early afternoon (~7 hours of fishing). Our guides are local multi-generational fishermen experienced with fly fishing. We fish two anglers to a 20-25ft. panga. Boats will pick up guests in front of lodging as well as launch out of Ensenada de Los Muertos (Bahia de Los Sueños) to cover as much terrain as possible of this vast fishery- spanning north to the far tip of Isla Cerralvo, around La Ventana Bay and the lighthouse point, and down the coast to Boca Del Alamo. Drastic underwater topography channels pelagic species through the area and provides a rich habitat for resident species. TARGET SPECIES: Roosterfish, Jack Crevalle, Dorado, Tuna, Pompano, Yellowtail, Snapper, Grouper, Triggerfish, Ladyfish, Milkfish, Billfish. SEASON: Although the fishing is good year-round, our prime season is May - November when the weather is milder, and the warmer water brings the prized grande roosterfish. GEAR: A detailed gear list will be provided. The most versatile rod is a 10wt., but anything between 8-12wt. can see action. Go-to lines are a tropical intermediate clear sink-tip and a full sink with 40/30/20 lb. fluorocarbon leader. Useful fly patterns include clousers for smaller rockfish, crease flies for topwater action, tube flies for billfish, and baitfish patterns such as kinky muddlers, deceivers, and other mullet, minnow, and sardine patterns in 2/0-4/0. Check out our fly recommendations at www.thefishranch.com. A selection of flies will also be available to purchase in the shop. ACCOMMODATIONS: Located 2.5 hours north of Los Cabos and 45 mins. below La Paz, on the Sea of Cortez, our lodging is at the beginning of La Ventana, on the edge of Bahia Turquesa. This mostly undeveloped miles-long stretch of the beach provides access to prime beach fishing. There is a pool, firepit, and paddleboards onsite, as well as beach bars and biking within walking distance. Our accommodations are completely private, and newly renovated, with a kitchen and communal space on every floor. FOOD: There are endless options available in this region, whether it's Yellowtail sashimi caught that day, fried oyster Po'boys in El Triunfo, Superburros from our local hotdog stand, or a mezcal tasting with chocolate bourbon pecan pie from our favorite Italian baker... we love food! Breakfast will be grab-and-go before heading out to fish, lunches are eaten on the boat or beach, and dinners will be a mix of eating out and BBQs at the villas.

Cortland Line LOGO_edited.jpg

Cortland Line's new Guide Series fly fishing outfits were designed by hardcore anglers to offer premium performance at an affordable price. Without a doubt, the "expensive" stigma shadows over the sport of fly fishing, with little attention to detail for both beginner and intermediate level anglers. These outfits were built using quality components and tested for long-term abuse. Saltwater fly line and reel does require regular care and maintenance to prolong the lifespan of the line. Always rinse line and reel with freshwater after use in saltwater to remove any salt particles that can corrode or damage the line and reel. It is always recommended to clean the full fly line with our fly line cleaner and lubricated pads after rinsing with freshwater.
